3 France vs Ireland

6 Nations

Saturday 3 February, 4.45pm

Ireland kick off their 6 Nations campaign with a trip to Paris to face Les Bleus this Saturday.

Jacob Stockdale will hope to make an impact for Ireland in France on Saturday

This fixture has often been an entertaining one, and it should be no different this time around.  France have struggled as of late, wining only seven of their last 21 test matches. A management change in the team has seen Guy Noves been replaced by Jacques Brunel, so a winning start to their tournament could be crucial for a confidence boost in the French camp. This may be difficult, as Ireland are heavily favoured to take home the first win of the tournament, with key players like Jonathan Sexton and Conor Murray to play big roles. The game will be shown live on BBC One from 16:45.

Players to watch

Ireland: Jacob Stockdale

The Ulster winger showed glimpses of his potential in the November series and has been one of Ulsters’s main attacking threats.

France: Matthieu Jalibert

The French youngster will make his national team debut this tournament. The 19-year-old has been praised as a very exciting young talent.

LA look to climb up the Western Conference table when they travel to Oklahoma to face OKC Thunder.

OKC Thunder play host to the LA Lakers this Sunday in a Western Conference match up. The Lakers desperately need to get some Ws on the board as they sit in 11th place, six places below OKC. The last time the two teams played, LA were blown out by a score of 133-96. Oklahoma will be eager to add to their 19-7 home record on Sunday evening; Russell Westbrook will surely play a key role in this effort. With LA’s ‘Big Baller’ Lonzo Ball likely to miss out on the game, OKC will be hoping then can hand the Lakers their third L in a row.
