THE super-fit people from Supreme Fitness gym in Carlow town did a sponsored spin in Fairgreen Shopping Centre to raise funds for the local fibromyalgia support group.

Keith and Dwayne from Supreme Fitness led the way on their stationary bikes as members of the support group collected donations and gave information about the condition to the public.
Organised by Kevin Byrne from Carlow town, the event raised just over €750 for the organisation.

The group, which has over 70 members from Co Carlow and beyond, gives support and advice to people who have this debilitating condition. They host coffee mornings every Thursday in the Woodford Dolmen Hotel on the Kilkenny Road at 11am. They also run a support helpline every evening from 6-9pm on 089 4387283.

They’ve organised a workshop, in conjunction Fibromyalgia Ireland, to teach sufferers how to cope with pain, promote self care and helpful exercises. You can contact the above number for more details.
