UPMC Whitfield Hospital, the largest private hospital in the south-east, is bringing its inaugural sports medicine roadshow to the Talbot Hotel, Carlow this Friday (1 November).

The event will see healthcare professionals from diverse disciplines with a specialist interest in sports medicine come together to discuss best practice in injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Key speakers include John Sugrue, physiotherapist and former Laois football manager.

The event is free to attend and will be of interest to GPs, sports doctors, physios, coaches and managers involved in all sports.

A range of additional speakers will include leading sports doctors, physiotherapists, concussion, nutrition and orthopaedic specialists, and strength and conditioning professionals.

The event will focus on sporting performance and injuries, assessing and treating concussion, and hip and groin injuries and treatments.

This Friday’s events takes place from 6pm-9pm at the Talbot Hotel. Attendance is free and open to all, but registration is required as places are limited. See eventbrite.ie for more details.
