JYSK, the Danish home retail brand, has announced plans to open three new stores in Ireland – including one in Carlow – in the first half of 2021. The new Carlow store, earmarked for location at Barrow Valley Retail Park, is expected to open in May, with other new outlets opening in Tralee, and in Cork at Eastgate Retail Park, Little Island in June.

Since JYSK first launched in Ireland in April 2019, the brand has seen great success with stores in Portlaoise, Naas, Dublin and six other locations. The company currently employs 112 people in Ireland and indicates that the new store openings will generate 40 jobs.

JYSK (pronounced ‘yoosk’) is well known for high-quality, on-trend products for the home, from the bedroom to the garden. It’s Scandinavian design ethic and stylish approach to interiors has made the brand known and loved across the world.

“We have always been committed to expanding in Ireland and we are reaching our target to open 15 new stores in our first two years here,” said Roni Tuominen, country manager for Ireland and the UK.

“We are very confident in the Irish market and in our customers’ love for JYSK. There is a great appetite for home furnishing products, perhaps now more than ever, with so many of us spending more and more time at home,” he added.

“We are delighted to bring JYSK to Carlow, Tralee and Eastgate Retail Park in Cork and we look forward to welcoming and meeting new customers in our new locations this year.”
