FOUR valuable pedigree dogs have been stolen from a house on the Laois Carlow border.

The stolen pets include a puppy that is only two weeks old and another only five weeks old.

Gardaí in Abbeyleix are investigating the theft from a house in Kileen, Maganey, between 6pm and 10pm yesterday, Thursday 21 January.

The dogs are:

A white female Bichon Frise, about five years old. The dog is micro-chipped and was only recently clipped, so the hair is very short.

A two-week-old white female Bichon Frise, white in colour.

A female brown and white Cavalier/Bichon Frise cross, five weeks old.

A golden male poodle, micro-chipped and about five years old.

Pictures of the dogs are not available at this time.

Gardaí are appealing for information on suspicious vehicles or people seen in the area at the relevant time.

Contact Abbeyleix Garda Station 057 8730580 if you can assist.
