Mary Fitzpatrick (née Bolger)
Dereen Heights, Carlow Town, Carlow
On June 8 2021 (peacefully) at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny after a long illness, bravely borne. Beloved wife of the late Johnsie and dearly loved mother of Mary (Mollie) and Seán. Sadly missed by her loving daughter, son, son-in-law Conor, brothers Oliver and Brendan, sister Breda, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her siblings Jim, Gretta, Tom and Catherine.
Rest in Peace.
Owing to Government guidelines a private Funeral will be held. The funeral Mass can be viewed from the Holy Family Church, Askea website on Friday morning at 11am. Burial will follow afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mary Kennedy (nee Byrne)

George McCarney
Pacelli Avenue, Graiguecullen, Carlow
died June 8th 2021 (peacefully) at Borris Lodge Nursing Home. Beloved husband of Liz and much loved father of Caroline and Marie. Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, sons-in-law Edward and Mario, grandsons Colm, Niall, Luke, Mark and Robert, Niall’s wife Aideen, brother-in-law Christy Lawler, sister-in-law Anne McCarney, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

A private funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11.30am in St. Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The funeral Mass can be viewed from the Graiguecullen Parish website (
George will pass his home on Thursday morning en route to St. Clare’s Church. Neighbours and friends are welcome to pay their respects in a socially distant manner as the cortége passes at approx. 11.15am.


Elizabeth (Betty) Tunstead (nee Brennan)
Bilboa Cross, Co. Carlow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on 8 June 2021, at her home.
Beloved wife of the late Kevin, much loved mother of Thomas, Kevin, Elizabeth and Mark, adored grandmother of Annie, Paul, Danielle and Nevaeh and cherished sister of Mary, Julian, Bill and the late Paddy.
She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, grandchildren, daughters-in-law Suzanne, Edel and Geraldine, brother, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Due to government advice regarding public gatherings, Betty’s funeral Mass (50 ppl) will take place on Thursday at 11a.m in The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mayo, Co Laois, and will be followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
