CARLOW has a new garda inspector, while Myshall says goodbye to its long-serving garda member.

At the quarterly meeting of Carlow Joint Policing Committee, Superintendent Aidan Brennan said there had been a number of recent personnel changes in the force in Carlow.

Inspector Conor Nolan was welcomed at the meeting following his appointment to Carlow. Superintendent Aidan Brennan said Inspector Nolan had previously worked in Carlow.

Inspector Alan Kissane, who had served in Carlow in recent years, was now serving back in Dungarvan. “He was a very great help here during his time in Carlow,” said Supt Brennan.

Sergeant-in-charge at Carlow Garda Station Michelle Collins has recently been promoted to inspector and has moved to Wicklow, while Sergeant Fiona Fitzpatrick is the new SIC in Carlow.

Supt Brennan also paid tribute to Myshall Garda Vincent Collins, who recently retired and was wished well in retirement. Supt Brennan said Garda Liam Mortell will replace Garda Collins in Myshall.

“He is an experienced member here in Carlow and we wish him the best of luck,” added the superintendent.
