An archaeology workshop will take place at Brownshill Dolmen on Friday 19 August

An archaeology workshop will take place at Brownshill Dolmen in Carlow next week where you can step into the Stone Age.

The event will take place on Friday 19 August with some of the artifacts on show thousands of years old while some objects would have been used by our neolithic ancestors out at Brownshill Dolmen over 5,000 years ago! This workshop will be hosted by Francesca Callaghan from Explore Archaeology.

Local councillor and member of Carlow Historical Archaeological Society Fergal Browne will give short talks on the hour every hour from 11am -4pm. Anyone with mobility issues will be catered for by having a golf buggy available on the day. The fantastic artwork by local primary school children can also be viewed on the new noticeboard. All welcome especially those who have yet to ever visit this amazing megalithic portal tomb that pre-dates the great pyramids of Egypt and Newgrange.
