CINDY Vundla’s dream of owning her own business has come true.

After four years of trading at Carlow Farmers’ Market, where she sold her delicious cakes, bread and tarts, she knew that she was ready to open her own premises.

“I’d been trading in the farmers’ market for four years and the business just kept growing. I needed access to a bigger kitchen, too. I had always wanted to open my own restaurant and I had studied culinary arts in Waterford, so this seemed like the right time to open my own place,” said Cindy, proudly.

And so Cindy’s Bakery and Café was born just a few weeks ago on Burrin Bridge, Carlow and was officially opened last week by cllr Fintan Phelan, town mayor.

Cindy’s new business is flying, with customers loving the homemade cakes, breads, buns and tarts. She also sells delicious sandwiches and rolls and a range of tea and coffee, which is ideal for a quick lunch.

Farmers’ market fans need not worry either because they can still find her there every Saturday.
