THE beautiful countryside of Clashganny lock was the perfect backdrop for the Keppel family, who recently celebrated Bernadette’s milestone 80th birthday there.
Bernadette and her husband Des were joined by their four sons Alistair, Douglas, Cormac and Connor, their partners and grandchildren to enjoy a celebratory meal in Clashganny House. In all, 18 of them came together for the big occasion, which saw granddad Des being the most senior at the age of 81, while grandson Elliot was the baby of the family at just eight months old.
The Keppel family are originally from Rathoe, but Bernadette and Des have retired to Gowran, while their four sons are all living in different locations across Ireland. It was, therefore, a special and memorable occasion when they all managed to get together for Bernadette’s birthday.
“Clashganny House is such a lovely place and they do a great job there,” said Des. “We managed to get the whole family together, so it was a lovely occasion. We all really enjoyed it.”
