Well done to Colin Phelan and Fergus Langton from Knockbeg College, and Evin Fleming from Scoil Chonglais, Baltinglass who each received a massive 613 points in their leaving cert

By Elizabeth Lee

Hundreds of teenagers across Co Carlow are today anxiously waiting to find out their destiny when the CAO offers are issued tomorrow, Thursday.

It’s been a tense seven days for the class of 2022 after their leaving cert results were issued last Friday.

Overall, Co Carlow secondary schools in Carlow town, Tullow, Bagenalstown, Hackestown and Borris were pleased with the students’ results, though on a national level, concerns were expressed about grade inflation and about how points could be pushed up further on the some college courses.

Tomorrow, the teenagers will discover if they’ve been offered their first choice of college place or, if they have to wait for the second, or subsequent, round of offers.
