IT WAS one of the last days of the summer holidays and it proved to be a perfect time to get out of the house and make the most of fine weather. And what better place to spend it than at the Tinryland Park craft fair and family fun day?

With over 20 artisan craftmakers pitching up their stalls and selling their beautiful products and with games of all sorts for the kids, there was something for all the family to enjoy.

“It went really well, people enjoyed it so we were delighted. It was very successful. It was also a great way to show people what the park has to offer,” said a committee member.

The nearby McDonald’s fast-food outlet very generously sponsored the cost of the bouncy castle and other children’s entertainment. There was plenty to keep the youngsters occupied, with face painting, a zip write and games on offer.

All proceeds from the fun day will go towards the cost of maintaining the popular park, which also has the support of the local council. Recently, the committee was lucky enough to get a small grant from the National Lottery, which was used to upgrade a walking track in the park.

The committee would like to thank all who supported the event, especially all the volunteers, the craftspeople and the sponsors.
