GARDAI are appealing for information after a woman was approached by a stranger while on her way home in Carlow town in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The woman was on Staplestown Road when she was approached by a young man on Saturday morning 10 September between 3am and 4am and became afraid of him.

She managed to get away from the man and when she got home safely contacted the gardaí about the incident.

The man was described as tall and thin and aged in his late teens or early 20s.

“She was harassed by this man and was afraid of him. She was scared of this individual because of the time of the night and because she didn’t know him and she was on her own,” said a garda spokesperson.

Gardaí are looking for information about the individual and are keen to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the incident. Contact Carlow Garda Station on 059 9136620.
