A SPECIAL family Mass took place recently in Holy Cross church, Killeshin, celebrated by Fr John Dunphy.
The Mass was organised by the Holy Cross Liturgy group, along with Fr Dunphy and the parish team. Presentations were made in thanksgiving to many parishioners who give of their time to the upkeep of Holy Cross church and maintenance of the local Mass rock.
Families in all shapes and sizes were invited to attend to pay tribute to the importance of families in the parish.
The Hennessy Family were acknowledged for their ongoing commitment to Holy Cross Church, Killeshin. Generations of the Hennessy family have opened and closed the church each day for decades. The altar society which are a group of women who clean the church, were also acknowledge with the presentation of a gorgeous picture of the place as was sacristan, Vera Bolger.
Clare Moran also accepted a print of the Mass Rock painting on behalf of her family for their service to the local Mass Rock in Keelogue
The Mass marked one of the final celebrations of the 200-year celebrations for Holy Cross church and was greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all who attended.
