MORE than 40 women attended the launch of the Powerhouse Women in Business Awards in the Seven Oaks Hotel recently.
The awards acknowledge and celebrate women’s professional achievements in business and entries are open to women with businesses with fewer than ten staff located in Co Carlow. The awards aim to acknowledge and promote SMEs based in Co Carlow which have developed their businesses.
They will be presented at an evening event on Friday 18 November with MC Sile Seoige at the helm.
The inaugural awards will have seven categories, which include Powerhouse – Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Powerhouse – Creativity Award, Powerhouse – Excellence in Personal Services, Powerhouse – Best Newcomer/Start-up of the Year, Powerhouse – People’s Choice Award, Powerhouse – Digital Marketing Award, and Powerhouse – Employee of the Year Award.
Cllr Brian O’Donoghue, cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, launched the event recently in the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow.
“The Powerhouse Network Awards celebrate, reward and acknowledge the determination and inspiring work from businesswomen in Carlow. The awards are a well-deserved celebration to recognise and acknowledge the talent and success behind each businesswoman in the county and what they bring to the economy.”
Melissa Doyle, co-ordinator of the Powerhouse Women in Business Network, on behalf of the Carlow County Council Local Enterprise Office, said: “The Powerhouse Awards are a great way to showcase and promote the success of the business, it also attracts more attention and therefore attains creditability.”
The event will start at 7pm, with dinner followed by the awards ceremony. Entries are open until 28 October and finalists will receive four free tickets to the to the awards ceremony, which will be held on 18 November. To enter, please visit link https://submit.link/18f
