THE annual armistice remembrance and wreath laying ceremony will take place at the War Memorial Arch in Leighlinbridge on Friday 11 November.
This event is again being organised by local historian Martin Nevin, its purpose to remember and acknowledge Carlovians who lost their lives in past international conflicts from both world wars to the present day.
During the brief ceremony, which starts at 11am, wreaths will be laid by Robin Harvey from the Ireland branch of the Royal British Legion and by Paul Maguire, chairman of County Carlow Military Museum. All are welcome to attend. The military museum will remain open until 4pm as it will be the last open day of 2022. The museum reopens on St Patrick’s weekend 2023.
