EYE-CATCHING artwork was unveiled this week, adding a terrific splash of colour and vibrancy to a well-known area of Carlow town.

The artwork located at Bridewell Lane, Carlow features a vivid image of a girl blowing a dandelion, surrounding by beautiful colours and nature scenes. It replaces previous artwork, adding a fresh, welcoming feel to this area of the town.

The talented artist involved was Gala Hutton, while the project was artistically directed by Connie Byrne and the Pure Thinking Community Group and managed by Castlerath Construction.

The artwork was officially unveiled last Thursday by mayor of Carlow Municipal District cllr Fintan Phelan, who supported the project from its inception.

“Congratulations to Gala Hutton on this fantastic piece of art in the heart of Carlow town,” said cllr Phelan.

“In particular, I want to thank Gala, Connie Byrne of Pure Thinking Community Group and Martin Byrne of Castlerath Construction. This artwork really brightens up and enhances our town centre. I am looking forward to working with Pure Thinking Community Group on more pop-up street art in the months ahead,” he added.
