Israel Olatunde’s European Indoor Championships have come to an end after he finished seventh in the 60m semi-final in Istanbul.

Olatunde faded over the second half of the race and finished in 6.69 seconds, off the Irish record of 6.57 he clocked earlier this month.

“I didn’t really have it in the last 30 metres, and that’s something to work on for sure,” he said.

Earlier, Darragh McElhinney came fourth in his 3000m heat to qualify for Sunday’s final.

World indoor finalist Sarah Lavin is also into the semi-final of the 60m hurdles.
