GARDAÍ are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Tullow, Co Carlow on Monday 6 March.

A number of shots were fired at a van in the area. No injuries were reported. The vehicle has been seized for a technical examination.

A man in his 20s has been arrested in relation to this incident and is detained under Section 30 of the Offences of the State Act, 1939 at Carlow Garda Station. He has since been charged and is scheduled to appear before Carlow District Court this morning, Wednesday 8 March.

Investigations are ongoing.
