THE redevelopment of the former Bank of Ireland site at Court Place, Carlow edged a step closer this week.

At Thursday’s meeting of Carlow Municipal District, council officials sought permission to move the project onto the Part 8 notice, which refers to a development carried out by a local authority.

The council bought the former Bank of Ireland premises several years ago with plans to redevelop the site for its own additional office space. Permission for the Pat 8 was granted by members, who welcomed movement on the plans.
