Evan Byrne at the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Graiguecullen last year
By Suzanne Pender
EXPECT lots of shamrocks, shillelaghs and donning of the green tomorrow as Co Carlow celebrates our national feast day.
St Patrick’s Day parades are back with a bang all over the county and in neighbouring counties with Carlow town, Tullow, Bagenalstown, Ballon, Graiguecullen, Killeshin, Castledermot, Gorersbridge and Graignamagh all hosting parades.
Seachtain na Gaeilge is also in full flight this week with lots of events and activities planned.
Tullow has an action-packed St Patrick’s Day planned, commencing at 2pm from the Dublin Road with the man himself St Patrick’s leading off the parade down through the town.
Business, community groups, clubs and organisations are all encouraged to come along and participate with large crowds expected to line the route.
Tullow’s parade is this year very kindly sponsored byAllstone Cut Granite Specialists, Ardattin and organised by the St Patrick’s Day parade committee, a subcommittee of Develop Tullow Association.
