ANNETTE Fox, CEO of Carlow County Development Partnership CLG, has been shortlisted in the Irish Women’s Awards 2023.

Organisers of the awards have just announced the finalists, recognising the achievements and contributions of women across various fields in Ireland. The awards aim to celebrate the success of female entrepreneurs, professionals, executives and community activists who have excelled in their respective industries.

The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on Friday 2 June at the Crowne Plaza Dublin in Blanchardstown. The event promises to be a celebration of the inspiring and successful women of Ireland, showcasing their talent and achievements.

Annette has been shortlisted in the Woman of Influence’ category.

She said: “I am thrilled to be nominated for this award, and while it was a complete surprise initially, I really believe that highlighting the work that women do in all areas of community and society is essential to empower activists and advocates and increase solidarity. The challenges that women face, including as senior executives, board directors and in the political arena, continue in 2023 and must be addressed in order to increase participation in these areas and ensure that the voice of women is heard.  I completely believe in an ethos of equality, inclusion and social justice, and that is what underpins our company. I love what I do and am fortunate that while I am CEO, I can still continue to work on the ground with the amazing diverse communities in Carlow and all the agencies who have a similar ethos. Thanks to everyone who voted for me and all the wonderful messages of support.”

The finalists were selected from a pool of exceptional nominees based on the number of votes received from the public due to their innovation, leadership and commitment to their fields. The awards recognise women who have made a significant impact in their industry or community, driving positive change and inspiring others to do the same.
