A DATE for the opening of the new columbarium wall at St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow has yet to be decided.

At a recent meeting of Carlow Municipal District, cllr Andrea Dalton asked when the columbarium wall will be operational, adding that a number of people have ashes of loved ones a long time and are anxious to know when they can be interred there.

Town engineer Barry Knowles stated that the columbarium wall was within the remit of the environmental department and he would consult them to secure the date for its commencement.
