Staplestown Road, Carlow

By Suzanne Pender

PARKING is huge issue for residents on Carlow’s Staplestown Road, St Killian’s Crescent and Pollerton Road.

Cllr Fergal Browne raised the issue at last week’s meeting of Carlow Municipal District, adding that parking at Staplestown Road and St Killian’s Crescent were causing difficulties for residents and suggested residents’ only parking in the area or one-hour parking arrangements.

“Residents are being blocked from parking,” said cllr Browne.

Cllr John Cassin stated that similar problems were being experienced by residents at Bridge Street and Pollerton Road. He also asked if there was a five-tonne limit for vehicles on Pollerton Road.

Area engineer Barry Knowles agreed to look at the parking arrangements in these areas and to meet local residents.
