Five more men arrested on suspicion of 'serious offences' after fire and burglary in Tipperary

The Garda investigation into an incident of aggravated burglary and criminal damage by fire that occurred in Clonmel, Co Tipperary on March 18th is continuing.
During the course of follow-on searches on Thursday in the Cashel and Carrick-On-Suir area, an additional five males were arrested and detained on suspicion of serious offences.
Two of these males have since been charged, and appeared before Cashel District Court on Thursday.
The remaining three males are scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court on Friday morning.
12 people in total have now been arrested during the course of this operation, and nine have been brought before the courts.
Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí from the Tipperary South Community Engagement Functional Area conducted a multi-agency operation on Wednesday and Thursday as part of ongoing investigations into an incident of aggravated burglary and criminal damage by fire that occurred in Clonmel, Co Tipperary on March 18th.
The operation was supported by members of the Army, National Parks and Wildlife Service, ISPCA and Customs and is ongoing.
