Three men to appear in court in connection with Coolock public order incident

Three men are to appear in court on Monday after being arrested in connection with an investigation into the serious public order incident in Coolock, Co Dublin, last year.

There had been unrest in the area after the Government announced plans to use the disused Crown Paints factory to accommodate hundreds of international protection applicants.

The three men, aged in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, were arrested by gardaí on Monday.

They were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Garda stations in North Dublin.

They have all since been charged and are due to appear before Dublin District Court, Court No. 4 at the Criminal Courts of Justice.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
